I really like them, because they were (I think!) one of the first creepy-crawlies I knew that I never had to be afraid of. They didn’t have huge jaws and acid like the ants did, and they were a lot smaller, they weren’t deadly venomous likes the scorpions and spiders around our block, they wouldn’t attack you with stings. They just ambled around, very amiably, and ate whatever was ruining your flowers!Ladybird is what they get called in Australia. Ladybugs I’ve heard as well, in some places.
I’ve heard both names also. They rank high amongst my favourite insects.
